Preference and Parkour and Pirates, Oh my!

(contented sigh)

It's been an awesome weekend. For starters, it was a three-day weekend, which you just can't go wrong with. For after-starters, it was preference! if you wanna take a peek down south on this page and check out some pictures I've posted, go right ahead. Okay, are you back? Well, here's a run-down of out day. At about 9:00, Chelsea, Brian, Lillian, and I went down to the flower store-thing and got corsages and boutineres (sic). We then went over to the University Mall and got me a black shirt (Somehow, I lost my other one that I had. I think that I went to long without washing it, so it ran away.) and Brain and Blue-ish gray shirt. Smashing, indeed. It was about 12:00 or so by this time. so we went back to our respective dormitories and chilled for about an hour and then met up with Lillian and Chelsea and met Josh (Lil's date) for the first time. Hmm. I should probably say who went with who, at this point. Chelseawent with me, Lillian went with Josh, and Debbi went with Brian. Everybody clear? Good.

After we met at about 1:30, we were going to go bowling, but it was such a gorgeous day outside, that we decided to go to the park instead. It was a gorgeous day. We played on the swings and watched clouds and played basketball and practiced ballet (well, actually Chelsea tried to teach us some of the basics) and generally goofed around for about 3 hours. We took a few pics of the whole park experience, of which I've posted a few.

After that, we all came home and got ready for the date that night. Josh came up to our dorm room and we all got ready in about and hour. After all, we were taking our time. At any rate, us guys were ready to go at about 6 o'clock. We were gonna meet the girls at about 7 o'clock, si we played halo 2 for about 45 minutes, at which time the phone rang and the girls informed us that they needed about 30 more minutes. "No worries," we thought. "We'll just play another game of Halo." At 7:15, we called to ask a question about flowers and they said they needed about 30 more minutes. so we played another 3 rounds of Halo and then went and met them in their lobby. We waited for a while, so numerous pictures of us guys were taken. When the girlks came down to the lobby, I gotta tell ya, they looked beautiful. It was definitely for the wait.

So after more pictures were taken, we headed over to Chuck E Cheese and redeemed coupons for like a bazillion free tokens and played games and stuff and ate pizza and stuff for about 2 1/2 hours. After that, we trundled over to the dance in Spanish Fork and had a blast for the last hour or so of the dance itself. It may not seem like a lot of time, but I think it was a good length for a formal dance. After the dance, we ccame back home and went to the Malt Shoppe (I never understood that spelling) and got malts and played Raucous music on the Jukebox. Then we came home and called it a night.

IT WAS AWESOME!

So, about the rest of the things I listed in my title for this blog. As of late, I've become interested in Parkour (aka traceur, urban freeflowing, freestyle walking). Through numerous efforts to explain to people exactly what it is, I've realized that I don't really know what the heck it is. The description that I think descibes it the best is that it's the art of running around and jumping off of stuff. hmm. I don't think that that does it any justice, and please don't ask me to show you any cool tricks, (because I bruised my shoulder the other day trying one out) but check out some of these links

Rush hour featuring David Belle, the crazy French founder of this sport. Sorry, it's in Real Player format.
the angry cat a Nike commercial.
The angry Chicken Another Nike ad that's cool.
Urban Freeflow a cool site dedicated to the craft.

Anyhoo, that's pretty crazy. Don't worry too much about me mom.

As for the pirates, I got a book today called Peter and the Starcatchers, by Dave Barry. supposedly, it's the story behind Peter Pan and how he came to be in Neverland and got his cool flight contract and stuff. I'm quite jazzed to read it, let me tell you. If anybody's read it, post a comment and tell me what you thought.

I've got class, so I'm gonna run.

Weekend=Cool

And that's all i got to say about that.
